“Standing Firm in Crazy Times”

Standing Firm in Crazy Times

Crazy times lead many who are familiar with the Scripture to make statements that they do not understand. Crazy times and events lead many who are confused by prophecy in Scripture to ask questions that lead them to panic or to make bad assumptions. Crazy times and out of control events lead to many false statement because people don’t understand the times, nor do they understand God’s word.

The believers in Thessalonica had the same problem. Suffering and confusion about some of Paul’s teachings led to this letter to address the faith of this baby church, the persecution that they were facing and to address this problem of misunderstanding the end times.

This summer we’re going to spend some time in 2 Thessalonians where God encourages this church not to become unsettled, but to stand firm. And it is a message that is just as pertinent and relevant for us today who are living that much closer to the return of Christ.
