I grew up in Colorado and was called by the Lord into ministry in my early years of high school. After graduating Moody Bible Institute in 1995 I began an 11-year career in ministry. Then in 2006, Angie and I moved to Fort Worth, Texas with our five children where we continued to serve in the local church while I attended Dallas Theological Seminary. During this time God further cultivated in me a love for God’s word and a desire to shepherd God’s people and finally he led our family to DeWitt, a community that we are blessed to call our home.
DeWitt Evangelical Free Church is a church that intends to “reflect the magnificence of God” as we are together “knowing Christ and making him known.” My role in accomplishing that mission is primarily through the preaching of God’s Word, shepherding the flock, and providing leadership to the church body. I consider it a blessing and a great privilege to be able to serve here and be a part of this community.
Director of Children’s Ministries
DeWitt Evangelical Free Church has been part of my family’s life since the church began in 1977. As newly-weds, my husband and I moved to DeWitt in 1977 and attended the second Bible Study that was the beginning of the church. We have four “biological” and three “in-law children” — Mitchell (35) and his wife Carrie — Katie (32) and her husband Chris — Allison (28) and her husband Ryan — and Hailey (24). My family has experienced that DEFC is a wonderful church family filled with special people and opportunities to grow and be loved.
I was a kindergarten teacher for fourteen years — six years before my own children were born and eight years after — and a school administrator for seventeen years. I love kids . . . I love helping them learn . . . and grow.
My passion as the Director of Children’s Ministries at DEFC is to partner with parents, our church leadership, and our pastor to bring children into a life-changing relationship with Jesus, helping them to grow in their knowledge of Him and their love for Him, and to help prepare them for the plan He has for their lives.
I started working at DEFC in February of 2004. I have been married to my husband Jason since 1998. We have been blessed with 3 beautiful children: James (15), Kyle (13) and Emma (10). I enjoy singing with the Praise Team and volunteering at church activities.
I love working as a Church Secretary mainly because I get to work and interact with Christians on a daily basis.
