Awana

Awana web fall 2014 CubbiesDEFC has had Awana for nineteen years!

It is an amazing program that helps churches and parents world-wide work together to teach children about Jesus.  It develops spiritually strong children who are prepared to faithfully follow Him. An added bonus is that kids LOVE Awana!

The night includes game time which also includes a snack—- and council time which includes singing & a fun Bible lesson—- and handbook time when the kids work with Awana staff to memorize Bible verses.  Every part of Awana is ALL about the kids learning ALL about Jesus.

If your kids try Awana —- they won’t want to miss it!

Awana Clubs for all children ages 4 through 6th grade meets Wednesday evenings from 6:10 – 8:00 pm and begins September 14th and runs through April 2017.   Clubbers may enter the building at 6:00pm (not any earlier, please) and club will begin at 6:10pm.  Children are welcome and invited to come join us here at DEFC anytime throughout the year!  Bring a friend also!

AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.  This comes from 2 Timothy 2:15 “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”

The Bible says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”  (Proverbs 22:6)  Realizing that today’s children are confronted with more choices than ever before, AWANA’s Bible based program seeks to establish them on a firm Biblical footing from which they will be able to make good decisions in the years ahead.  Every clubber is special to us and to God.

Awana presents an opportunity for your child to establish and grow in his/her relationship with God and an opportunity to build good relationships with others.
