“When Your World Falls Apart”
In 600 BC, external crises and enemies threatened the nation of Judah from without while the kingdom rotted away from within. The people had become morally corrupt and the nation had rejected their God. Habakkuk cried out to God, “How long shall I cry for help, and you will not hear?”
The oracle of Habakkuk portrays an honest conversation between a perplexed prophet who grieved over the times he lived in and a sovereign God who judges all things righteously. His message provides an appropriate reminder for the church today who live in similar times and need to understand the same lessons about how we must respond.
