Our Local Church
Our story begins in 1977, when a few families joined together in Bible Study and later in the summer of 1977 to start worshiping in the Ekstrand Elementary School Gymn. For 5 years we met for worship in that gymn and then met in homes for small groups and other meetings. Our committment to children’s ministries started at the very begining with VBs and Bible clubs in member’s basements and backyard. We met for a few years in rental buildings before building on our present property. Over the years we have had outreach to the comuninty as a vital part of our Church mission. Upward football, awanas and the Truth singers are all vital ministries of our Church.
God has continued to grow the church, strong and steady. We also have ministries to the youth, women and are building on our tradition of small groups.
By God’s grace, members of DeWitt Evangelical Free Church have been celebrating, applying, and sharing the gospel in the central Clinton County area for over 30 years. We look forward to seeing God’s continued work in our community. We hope that this brief history of our church points you to the riches of God’s kindness and mercy, that he would make a collection of weak and fallen people into a fruitful part of his kingdom.
