UPWARD Flag Football

Upward is a world-wide Christian sports league for children, providing a fun kids sports experience based on healthy competition.  To learn more about Upward Sports, visit www.upward.org .  DEFC offers Upward Flag Football for boys in 1st thru 4th grades during the months of August thru October.  The 2011 schedule is as follows:

Early registration due by July 15 ($50 registration fee)

Evaluations – August 1 & 2

Practices begin the week of August 29

Games begin Saturday, September 10

Last game day – Saturday, October 22

End-of-Season Celebration – Tuesday, November 1

All are welcome to come out and support the flag footballers each Saturday afternoon from September 10 thru October 22 at Westbrook Park, DeWitt.  Several games are played between 12:30pm and 4:30pm.  For more information on the Upward program at DEFC, please contact Doug Hinkle (659-1943).

AWANA

AWANA meets on Wednesday nights from 6:10 – 8:00PM at DEFC.  Doors open at 6:00PM.  All children from Kindergarten through 6th grade are welcome to come attend!

The Bible says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”  (Proverbs 22:6)  Realizing that today’s children are confronted with more choices than ever before, AWANA’s Bible based program seeks to establish them on a firm Biblical fotting from which they will be able to make good decisions int he years ahead.  Every clubber is special to us and to God.

Awana presents an opportunity for your child to establish and grow in his/her relationship with God and an opportunity to build self-esteem and good relationships with others.
